Post number 1, wherein the author wastes some electrons making fun of the stupid

Cdesign proponentsist
genus: Cdesign
species: proponentsist

The 'intelligent design' believer is one of three species belonging to the genus Cdesign. It ranges widely, though is most commonly found in North America, specifically in the Southern USA and the province of Alberta. C. proponentsist also ranges throughout the Muslim world, and has lately gained a significant foothold in Australia and Europe. This species originated in the USA, and represents a relatively recent speciation event, having only branched off from C. reationism within the past two decades. This was apparently due to a truly incompetent search and replace operation in Microsoft Word.

C. proponentsist is remarkable among animals, in that it survives primarily by parasitising local school boards and universities. When the host school's immune system reacts via the courts, C. proponentsist will run away, complain that the host's immune reaction is unfair, and immediately attach itself to another unsuspecting host. In the absence of available hosts, C. proponentsist has been known to feed on the media instead. The traditional treatment for a C. proponentsist infection is 20mg/kg of rational thought, given orally twice per day.
C. proponentsist represents an emerging threat to public health throughout much of the world. Though endemic to North America, recent outbreaks have been seen in the third world, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa and in the Middle East. Factors favourable to the spread of this epidemic include lack of critical thinking, arguments from authority derived from old books, and inadequate mental sanitation.

The evolutionary history of C. proponentsist is of great interest to biologists around the world, in that it appears to have evolved over the course of a single year. The first recorded appearance of C. proponentsist was in 1987, when a subset of C. reationism apparently morphed directly into C. proponentsist overnight due to the sheer brain power required to properly use Microsoft Word. A related process can be seen in the evolutionary relationship between H. reallystupideopathy and H. omeopathy, although in this latter case the selection pressure was probably related to general stupidity rather than computer illiteracy or laziness.
